Kiln dried oak firewood is one of our densest firewoods with a tighter grain, which makes it slower to ignite.  However, its excellent burn time more than makes up for this. Because of its dense fibres and chunky shape, it burns much slower than other hardwood types. It is also less likely to spit and spark. One oak log will burn for over two hours, creating a continuous source of warmth and a low flame, meaning you won’t have to tend to your fire or refuel as often.

Each log is approximately 25cm in length with a diameter range of 6 and 16cm. As a natural product, these sizes may vary slightly. Our Full Crates measure 1.22m (h) x 1.14 (w) x 1.08m (l) and hold a loose volume of 2m3*. 

*The loose volume of firewood is what we are required by legislation to quote. It refers to the volume of logs supplied in a random pile or poured ‘loose’ into a container. Our crates are wrapped in a thin plastic sheet to maintain their dryness during shipping. To keep your firewood dry, store it in a sheltered storage space with plenty of air circulation.
